I was that mom.

motherhood is wild.

When I became a mom, I had no idea what I was doing. I wasn’t prepared for how intense those early weeks would feel, physically, emotionally and mentally. I felt overwhelmed, isolated and unsure, and desperately needed someone to walk me through it.

Before entering this line of work I spent eight years in the classroom as an elementary school teacher. Then after becoming a mother and supporting other mothers in my life throughout their postpartum journeys, I felt pulled into this work. I pivoted from teaching children to guiding mothers, and it has been a natural fit: my love of teaching and my own story, together in one place.

Today I support mothers as a postpartum doula and a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. My own breastfeeding challenges are a big part of why feeding support is so close to my heart.

I’m here to be the support I wish I had. I listen deeply and without judgment, make space for you to talk through your birth, and offer gentle, practical guidance on newborn care and feeding. I give you the tools and knowledge to step into postpartum and breastfeeding feeling confident and supported, not blindsided and alone.

My mission is for every mom I work with to feel seen, held and supported. You deserve it all.

When Melanie first came to see me, I was completely engorged, in so much pain, and honestly ready to give up on breastfeeding. With her help, patience, and guidance, everything changed. My baby is now latching well, and breastfeeding has become something I actually look forward to.

I absolutely recommend Melanie’s services! She was such a light in my postpartum journey. From support via text for breastfeeding to in home visit to take care of me, baby & some house/food prep so I can rest and recover during such a fragile time in a woman’s life! We all need extra support and Melanie can be that for you 💖🥰

Melanie was incredibly supportive after I had my little girl. I don’t know what I would have done without her. She listened when I needed it, answered all my crazy “is this normal” questions and gave me multiple tips and tricks to help with breastfeeding. She was also great with my 4 year old and really helped with the juggle of going from 1-2 children.
